JAN 15: Central West's dream of playing at the Sydney Cricket Ground came alive again after Cricket NSW and the SCG Trust negotiated to have the Plan B Regional Bash finals played at the venue, after previously stating it would not be held there.
JAN 15: Lithgow Workies Wolves welcomed their first U18 League Tag side into the club for the 2019 season.
JAN 22: Parkrun Lithgow celebrated its 100th event, coinciding with its second birthday. With perfect weather 67 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 24 were first timers and six recorded new personal bests.
JAN 25: Lithgow Basketball Association celebrated the installation of new seating, scoreboards, new hoops and backboards as part of a State Government grant.
JAN 25: Club Revive CrossFit Uplift personal trainer and CrossFit coach Mitchell Case travelled to the Gold Coast to compete at the 2019 Australian CrossFit Championships.
JAN 28: Lithgow resident Christy Brazil organised a run to raise awareness of domestic violence against women. On Sunday, January 20, Ms Brazil and her friends Brea Jewson, Julie Livingston and Florintina Dulceanu gathered in Lithgow to run for womens rights, with the goal to help raise awareness about preventing violence against women.
FEBRUARY
FEB 8: Portland hosted the annual Nick Way Memorial at Portland on February 2 and 3.
FEB 8: The Central West Wranglers went down in the semi-final match against ACT on Tuesday, February 5. The team had a huge day, competing on the hallowed turf at the SCG.
FEB 11: Lithgow Storm talent Cooper Egan credited a great deal of hard work and training for his selection into the Under 16s Western Ram squad, which was announced on Thursday, February 7.
FEB 11: Lithgow hockey players 24-year-old Brandan Horner and 22-year-old Amelia Leard brought home gold and silver medals from the Australian National Indoor Hockey Championships also known as the Australian Indoor Hockey Festival.
FEB 19: The Workies women's bowls team scooped the pool at the final of Western District Senior Fours played at Oberon.
FEB 22: David Swift was named as coach of the 2019 Lithgow Lazers.

MAR 8: Lithgow hockey star Lachi Sharp was blown away after scoring on home turf in the Kookaburras' 2-1 victory over Spain in the FIH Pro League on Saturday, March 2 at Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre.
MAR 19: John Payne dedicated eight years of research to remember the lives of those who had fallen in his book Their Last Ride: The fallen jockeys of Australia which includes jockeys from the Lithgow region.
MAR 22: Cooerwull Public School won the annual Peachy and Richardson Cup with Wallerawang Public School coming in as runner-up on Tuesday, March 19.
MAR 26: Local professional MMA fighter Blake 'Randy Roy' Sheppeard continued his fine form in the cage at one of Australia's largest promotions, Eternal MMA in Perth at HBF Stadium on Saturday, March 2.
MAR 26: Angus Clues set a new NSW record in the Little Athletics Under 13 boy's discus competition. The former Lithgow Public School captain threw a massive 60.74m to break the previous record.
MAR 29: Valley 1 did not lose a wicket on their way to claim the Lithgow Senior Cricket first grade grand final on Saturday, March 23.
APRIL
APR 2: Year 11 La Salle student Emerson Banning won her way through to the NSW All Schools Tennis Championships in Bathurst after participating at the NSWCCC Tennis Championships in Sydney.
APR 5: Andrew Burton claimed the 2019 Lithgow Golf Club Championship title, winning by a margin of 14 shots.
APR 12: Dave Hampson was named Portland Golf Club Champion and A Grade Champion.
APR 19: Lithgow karate instructor Steve Saville, who is well-known as Sensai Steve, took the trip of a lifetime to Delhi to help prevent violence against women.
MAY
MAY 3: Young guns and Lithgow hockey players Clare Bosman, Abby Wilson and Hannah Kable were selected in the 2019 NSW U21 women's State team.
MAY 10: Lithgow's Angus Clues has claimed a world record in the Under 13's boys discus event at the Australian Little Athletics Championships, held in Hobart on April 27 and 28.
MAY 14: A mountain of second-half errors proved costly for Orange CYMS at Wade Park as Lithgow Workies scored their first win of the season.
MAY 17: The Lithgow Bears Rugby League club held its community fun day on Saturday, May 11. The day was about encouraging participation in sport with equal opportunities for people with disabilities to socialise and have fun.
MAY 24: Lithgow hockey star Hannah Kable was recognised as one of Hockey Australia's Women's national future athletes for 2019.
MAY 24: Lithgow Workies Lazers arrested a four-match losing slide in the Spalding Waratah League Division One Men's Basketball competition with a solid 92-77 victory over the Queanbeyan Yowies at the Lazerdome.
May 31: After three long years with no wins, the Lithgow Bears rugby league side broke their hoodoo against the rival side Portland Colts.
JUNE
JUNE 7: Rae Swift, who passed away on May 25 aged 74, dedicated 40 years to the Lithgow Basketball Association. Her contribution to the sport was marked permanently with the naming of a new scoreboard in her honour at a Lazers home game on June 1.
JUNE 7: Lithgow Lady Golfers secured back-to-back wins in the Blue Mountains District Interclub Pennant Competition.
JUNE 21: La Salle student Brenna Croker returned to Australia carrying a bronze medal for her hard work as part of the School Sport Australia girls hockey team.
JUNE 21: After a great run, the Lithgow Workmen's club first grade soccer team bowed out in round eight of the state wide Bill Cullinan Cup on June 16.
JUNE 24: Lithgow Basketball Association president Richard Marjoram was recognised for his decades of dedicated and unselfish service to the sport with a Distinguished Long Service Award at the NSW Community Sports Awards on Thursday, June 20 at NSW Parliament House.
JUNE 28: Lithgow's Adam Doonan headed to Alice Springs to compete in the 452km off-road, multi-terrain Finke Desert Race.
JUNE 28: More than 100 fights were held in one day as part of the annual Blue Mountains Taekwondo Championships, held at the Lithgow Civic Ballroom on June 16.
