Her contribution to the sport was marked permanently with the naming of a new scoreboard in her honour at a Lazers home game on Saturday, June 1.
The Lithgow Lazers formed a guard of honour to remember the very special member of their leadership and volunteer team.
Association president Richard Marjoram named the scoreboard on behalf of Lithgow Basketball with an emotional tribute.
"Rae was a loyal supporter, she was a woman who was both tough and soft," he said.
"Today we acknowledge just how lucky we were to have her and that she had a family which allowed her to follow her love of basketball," he said.

He said Rae was a pioneer for basketball and kept the doors open through the good and the bad times.
"She did every role in this association, she will be remembered for the person she was and will always be present in this stadium," he said.
Marjoram said a photo of Rae would be hung up in the Lithgow Basketball stadium foyer as well as the Rae Swift memorial scoreboard to remember her.
Crowds applauded his speech then paused for one minute of silence followed by three cheers for Rae.
The Lazers then took to the court against the Illawarra Hawks.
