He set a new NSW record in the Little Athletics Under 13 boy's discus competition recently.
The former Lithgow Public School captain threw a massive 60.74m to break the previous record.
The throw also netted him the title of state discus champion, one of three state titles he claimed during the competition, which was held earlier this month.
He also won the javelin with a throw of 39.85m and long jump with a jump of 5.42m. There was also a silver medal in the shot put (13.33m).
His mum Sally-Anne Clues said the conditions were "atrocious with wind and torrential rainfall" during the competition.
It is set to be a very busy season for Clues, who was last week named in the NSW Little Athletics State team to compete in the Australian Championships at the end of April.
The competition will be held at Hobart.
"This has been a dream of his since he was a little boy," Mrs Clues said.
"It is considered a great honour and a major highlight of Little Athletics involvement. The team has an extraordinary record and a wonderful history which extends back to 1973."
There are only 16 boys from across the entire state selected.
Angus is also competing in the Athletics NSW competition, which is separate from Little Athletics, taking part in the recent NSW Athletics Junior State Championships.
He has progressed to the National Athletics Championships, which will be held in Sydney in early April.

Selection is determined by an athlete's ability to meet particular qualifying times and distances, which Angus has managed in five events.
He will compete in discus, javelin and shot put, as well as the 100 and 200 metre sprint events.
Angus is down to 12.43 seconds for his 100m and 25.7 seconds for his 200m, which everyone agrees is pretty all right for a throwing specialist.
Angus also claimed the State title in the NSW Little Athletics combination event on March 2 and 3 at Dubbo.
