If the Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum wants to re-open post COVID-19, they will need more volunteers according to LSAFM president Renzo Benedet.

The museum which has opened its doors to the public since 1996, is world renowned but to continue operating at such a high level the museum needs volunteers.
"The museum is a fascinating place to be associated with, there's so much going on, so much history and so much to impart onto others," Mr Benedet said.
Mr Benedet said the museum was far more than just firearms.
"We have a historic industrial machinery collection, we have a large hall space for functions and events, we have archives dating back to 1909, we have a library and research facility," he said.

"We are proud of what the Museum stands for."
Mr Benedet said that was why the museum was inviting people to get involved and make a "valued contribution to the ongoing growth of one of Lithgow's admired icons".
"All it takes is a few hours a week or whatever time you can commit to," he said.
The skills that the museum is looking for include the following:
- Admission and shop sales
- Handyman / maintenance
- Tour guiding
- Social media and newsletter
- Event management
