Lithgow LiveBetter's Daniel Schofield loves his role as a volunteer driver for community transport.
Mr Schofield has been behind the wheel driving clients, particularly the elderly, to their doctors appointments near and far for the last five years.
"I take people, mainly pensioners to appointments in Lithgow and various areas like further West towards Bathurst and Orange and also towards Sydney, as far as Westmead," he said.
He said while clients attended appointments he would often grab a coffee and a bite to eat.
"Most people's appointments go for about an hour but sometimes you've got to wait around for a long time but that comes with the role, I don't mind," he said.
Mr Schofield said he enjoyed his role with LiveBetter because he loved to drive and meet new people.
"It gets me out of the house and rewards me with being able to help people and they really appreciate it.
"I've met lots of people and a few I've driven several times and they become regulars," he said.
"Being a volunteer for something like this I think would be good for anyone really, it's a good thing."
Mr Schofield said he wasn't sure what the future held for him but he knew he was happy driving clients for the time being.
I don't know what my future holds but for now I'm happy to keep driving for community transport."
LiveBetter transport operations manager Kathy Dickson said community transport wouldn't survive without its volunteers.
"Our volunteers are our life blood.
I don't know what my future holds but for now I'm happy to keep driving...

"The amount of commitment, loyalty and time they put into this role is absolutely exceptional," she said.
She said while LiveBetter had only been in Lithgow for four years, community transport has been around for over 20 years in the area and she encouraged more drivers.
"We see transport as being absolutely critical to people especially living in regional NSW often getting around to places can be very difficult.
"We want people to live their best lives and we certainly see transport a critical part of that," she said.
