Talented up-and-coming basketball player Jai Simcoe has been showing off his skills on the national stage, representing his state as part of the NSW PSSA team.

The St Patrick's Primary School school captain, Jai spent almost a full week in Bendigo in Victoria recently, taking on state teams at the Australian Basketball PSSA championships.
The small forward went through Diocese trials at Bathurst to be selected for the Polding team before being made part of the PSSA squad.
His Under 12's team finished in fifth position overall.

Jai said, apart from all the action happening on the court, he enjoyed excursions around the region, taking in the area's gold mining history.
"It was a really good trip," he said.
"I learned heaps about basketball and the coach, he taught us life skills, he taught us to never give up."
It was Jai's first time on the state team and he said there were plenty of challenges, including one Queensland attacker who, despite still being in primary school, stood over six feet tall.
Jai is part of the Lithgow Lazers Under 14's team.
