Scoring was excellent in all grades during the Lithgow Golf Club's stableford event and although the wind played havoc with some shots, temperatures were a lot better than in past weeks.

It was good to see club president Geoff Brooks return a winning score of 43 points. Brooks has been a tireless worker for the club over many years and his win in B grade was a deserved result.
He did have to survive a countback with runner up Pat Wall who also recorded 43.
Best scratch score in B grade went to Max McCann with 79 on a countback.
Winner in A grade was Michael Hunter with 38 points counting out runner-up Andrew Burton who also had the best scratch score with a two under 70.
Peter Haley continued his good run of form to win C grade with an excellent 43 points.
Runner-up was Bob Charlton on 37 points with Charlton also carding the best scratch score in C grade with 90.
Nearest the pin awards went to Brian Judge, Mitch Luka, Max Nightingale, Don Farnsworth and Anthony Oldfield.
Those to play well and figure in the Ball competition were Daniels Buckens, Jeff Geddes, Mark Willmott, Max McCann, Greg Guest, Michael Bennett, Anthony Oldfield, Justin McCann, Brian Bourke and Tom Jennings.Balls cut out on 36 ocb.
Next Saturday's event (August 31) will be the popular monthly medals with the usual nine hole events are on Wednesday and Friday.
Friday's nine hole result saw Paul Stewart on top with 27 points. Nearest to the pins went to Ben Oldfield and Mark Seckold.
