Thirteen year-old budding tennis star Lucy Green is working her way to the top, competing and winning in many competitions.
Green recently spent eight days in Albury where she played for the first time on grass in two separate tournaments, with a total of 29 sets and more than 18 hours on court.
In the Rex Hartwig Cup she took out the U13 singles, was a quarter-finalist in the U14 singles and a semi-finalist in the U14 doubles.
Green placed third in the 105th Easter Open U14 singles and won in the U14 doubles.
She was also a runner up in A grade special doubles and a quarter-finalist in the A grade mixed doubles.
Now home from Albury Green's hit the court again at Sydney Olympic Park where she played in the NSW State Age Championships from Wednesday, April 4 to Saturday, April 27.
Her mum Tracey said she was up against the best 14 year-olds in the State.
"Being only 13 the competition was tough this year but we are proud of her.
"Lucy loves her tennis and she is doing well, but she has a really long way to go and a huge amount of hard work ahead of her," she said.
Green has been playing tennis since she was six years-old and said she wanted to, one day, be number one in the world.

She also said she loved the mental side of the sport.
"Before stepping out on the court I tell myself I can win this, it's a mental goal, I am a confident player.
"When I win a match I feel really happy because I've been working so hard towards it and training hard, it boosts my confidence," she said.
Green said she also enjoyed the challenge of coming up against older players.
"I like it because it is tough, they are a really strong which makes for good competition and puts me to my limits," she said.
She also wanted to thank her sponsors and those who support her.
