"One of the best singles games I have seen in my fifty years with Lithgow Workmen's Bowling Club," said Harold Lees.
The Singles championship is for the Harold Lees Trophy named to honour Harold Lees, a foundation member of the Club, for his long association with the club.
"The ends were of the highest quality with precision draw bowls being played," said Harold who watched the whole game.
"The shot bowl was regularly rolled out and no head was secure until after the last bowl was delivered," Harold said.
Col McDonnell got away to an early lead but by the sixteenth end Dave Bunting had caught him up and although the margin remained tight for the rest of the match was able to maintain his lead for the rest of the game.
"I congratulate both players for the quality of the game and in particular for the good sportsmanship shown by both Dave and Col," Harold Lees said.
