Residents said it seemed Lithgow City Council had listened to requests for seating and the installation of plants after the revitalisation wiped out most of the green in Cook Street Plaza last year.
Council began the installation of movable planter boxes on Wednesday, April 3, which instantly caught the attention of passersby.
Ellie Kats cafe owner Anne Hajwan said everyone visiting her cafe while the installation process took place was positive in their feedback.
"Everyone said it looks more friendly and inviting, it looks really nice I think, no one's been negative other than the fact it has taken so long," she said.

The new structures provide greenery and seating combined into one and allow for easy removal when it comes to holding events such as Halloween, according to Lithgow City Council's director of infrastructure services Jonathon Edgecombe.
"They were specifically chosen and with the assistance of a mobile crane can be moved for large scale events or heavy duty vehicle access," he said.
Mr Edgecombe also said there were more planter boxes coming which will house flowers in the warmer months to come.
"We are just holding off on installing them for now and waiting until Summer comes around again to plant the flowers, so it won't just be all green, there will be other colours," he said.
Two bins were also to be installed.
