The freak weather sent trees and power lines down, left over 2600 homes without power and roofs flying off buildings.
The event was declared a natural disaster and Lithgow City Council were eligible to seek natural disaster funding.
Council’s director of infrastructure Jonathon Edgecombe said access to the funding was contingent on the post-event clean up effort exceeding a total value of $140,918.00.
“We are recording all costs associated with the event, including the bills for contractors, and will submit a claim for the total value once the damage has been cleared in its entirety,” he said.
