The four-man team made history and were crowned world champions for a record-breaking fifth time.
The Chopperoos were led by Captain Brad De Losa (NSW) competing on the single buck, with Brayden Meyer (VIC) on underhand chop, Jamie Head (QLD) on the stock saw and Glen Gillam (VIC) on standing block chop.
The team competed in a nail-biting semi-final against Canada where they sawed their way to a time of 45.10 seconds to beat their own record of 46.45 by 1.35 seconds.
They went on to set a new world record and defeated the USA in the final.
Taking home gold, the Chopperoos cemented their title of the most successful national wood chopping team of all time.
“We’ve trained hard for this. It’s an amazing feeling to come here, get gold and set a new record,” Chopperoos Captain Brad De Losa said.
A number of Australian fans made their way over to Echo Arena to support and watch the team in action.
“Thanks to the Australian fans who have travelled to watch us and to everyone at home in Australia who has supported us all the way.” De Losa said.
