The La Salle Hornets came out determined to make a statement against Lidsdale on Saturday, March 17.
Opening batsman Richard Sharp and Dave Glasson gave Lidsdale’s bowlers the runaround as they amassed a partnership of 171, including a ton to Glasson.
The team finished on 4/246, with Anthony Brown adding a handy 25 to the final score.
The hard-working bowlers had little reward for all their effort in the heat, but Dom Dellabosca claimed two wickets and Harry Bender and Logan Ward took one each.
Set a huge run chase, Lidsdale left nothing in the tank. Blake Caldwell almost made a half century, finishing agonisingly close at 49, and Nick Bender was the other top scorer on 42.
