The Lithgow and District Cancer Support Group received a massive boost with the news that the Springvale Colliery employees would be presenting them with a sizeable contribution to purchase caps and bucket hats for their Family Fun and Fancy Dress Stroll.

State Coroner Mary Jerram has delivered an open finding at Monday’s inquiry at Lithgow Local Court into the fireworks blast at Howard and Sons Wallerawang facility which occurred in December 2007.

A number of fuses found at the Howard and Sons Wallerawang site after the blast in December 8, 2007 were described as very unusual by senior WorkCover investigator, Grant Vosu while giving evidence at Monday’s coronial inquiry.
