Neil Hutchinson, batting at number two, went for two runs and Kobe Hunter was fast on his heels for a quacker, one of three batsman to go for a duck in the innings total of 86. For Valley, Matt Williams and Dave Hartley both took three wickets and Jono Reid finished with two.
Lou Kappos opened for Valley, top-scoring for the team with 19. He was supported by Graeme Bell (13), Riley Bell (11) and Michael Inzitari (11) as they clawed their way to the total, finishing 8/89.
Top wicket-takers for Hotel were Neil Hutchinson (3/6) and Terry Ford (2/15).
