The Zig Zag Motel Winter Cup is one of the major events on the Lithgow Golf Club calendar and it again attracted a good field.

The event was sponsored by the Motel and a big thanks goes out to the Inzitari family for their continued support of this event.
It was tough going with the course playing at its very longest with the soft fairways and pins and tee markers back to the maximum and for those that figured on the winners list certainly played some good golf.
The scratch Winter Cup winner was Justin McCann (3) who rarely turns in a bad round and his score of 73 was superb in the tough conditions.
The Cup handicap winner was one of the club's promising juniors Blake Goldspink (18) who has been frequenting the course over the school holidays and he took out the Cup with a score of 67 nett.
It is good following the golfing career of Goldspink and another junior in Tallan Egan (7) who took out the best A grade nett score with a 73 nett.
Both a good ball strikers, have a good temperament and will go far in the game.Runner up to Egan was the experienced Dave Thompson (6) on 74 nett ocb.
Best scratch score went to Andrew Burton (scr) a 76.
The B grade nett winner was Allan Mostyn (15) who is a golfer on the improve. He finished with a score of 68 nett with the runner up being Dave Hicks (15) on 71 nett and the best scratch score was Gary Keen (11) with a 84.
C grade winner was Leo Murnane (21) who has dominated this grade over recent months and he was again in good form to register a 72 nett to win on a countback from Olwyn King (22).
It was King's first win in the Saturday competition and it is great to see more women taking part in the weekly competition.
Best scratch score was Geoff Wheeler (19) with a score of 92.

Vouchers went to Trevor Cameron, Anthony Oldfield, Michael Bennett, Steve Hall, Max McCann, Michael Hunter, Blake Bender and Brian Judge. Cut was 75 nett.
Nearest to the pins were dominated by Tallan Egan (4 and 18) and Dave Titcume (2 and 9) with the 13th going to Anthony Oldfield.
Next Saturday's event will be a two ball best ball.
Wednesday nine hole competition (June 30):Winner was Chris Goodsell on 24 points. Runner up was Ross King with 22 points and in third spot was Brendan Swift on 19 points.
Vouchers went to Dave Thompson, Tallan Egan, Frazer Hamment and Al Mostyn. Cut was 17 points.
Nearest to the pins were Paul Stewart and Frazer Hamment.
Friday nine hole competition (July 2):Winner was Dave Thompson on 18 points.
Vouchers went to Brian Bourke and Trevor Cameron. Cut was 16 points. Nearest to the pin was Leo Francis.
