Charolais have continued their winning ways to remain unbeaten leaders of the Lithgow Table Tennis Association Winter Competition and consequently have opened a big lead over the rest of the field following Round Four.

Both matches saw one team going in a player short, with the new rules allowing for extra rubbers to be played by members of the undermanned side.
Charolais, with only two players available, blitzed Choppers early on, winning the opening five rubbers by a combined ten games to two. Choppers found a bit of form late, getting back to 14-8 down going into the doubles.
The match was decided at this point however, and while the teams split the two doubles, Choppers taking the first 2-0 and Charolais the second 2-1, Charolais eased to a comfortable 16-11 victory.
Peter Jaccoud stood out for the two-man Charolais outfit with an 8-1 result, and Sean Jenkins played his part with 6-7.
Leon Rust (5-3) was the only Chopper to find his way into positive territory, with Riza Wiradi finishing 2-5 and Sharnie Roberts 1-6.

The other match saw an understrength Grippers side do battle with Smashes. Grippers enjoyed an early 6-2 advantage, but it quickly evaporated as Smashes tied it up at 6-all just past the halfway point.
At the completion of the singles Grippers had again gone ahead at 10-6 but Smashes won both doubles 2-1 to snatch a 12-all tie.
Lou Kappos almost got his Grippers team home with a brilliant 10-0 record, but Mark McAulay was well below his best, struggling to an 0-8 mark.
Linda Kappos (4-2) was best in an inconsistent effort from Smashes, with Shane Eagle and Kelly Gurney both producing 2-4 results.
The competition will take a two-week break for the School Holidays and recommence on July 14.
