Snow falls are predicted and the smell of chimney smoke is in the air.
But before we rug ourselves up to prepare for the cold front, the Lithgow Mercury has taken a look at a recap of May's weather being the last month of Autumn.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the warmest day of the month was Monday, May 3 with a maximum temperature of 19.8°C.
Friday, May 7 had the highest minimum temperature of 12.5°C and was also the wettest day with 18mm of rain recorded.
The lowest maximum temperature was on Saturday, May 15 with the mercury only reaching 9.8°C making it the coolest day of the month.
The lowest minimum temperature of the month was -4.2°C on Sunday, May 16.
Throughout May, the average minimum temperature was 3.8°C while the maximum was 14.3°C.
So far June's highest maximum temperature is 16.4°C recorded on Wednesday, June 2. The lowest maximum temperature was 8.2°C on Friday, June 4.
This month's lowest minimum temperature was just -2.7°C and its maximum 10.4°C on Monday, June 7.
