The side which had previously struggled with their opening quarter, found good rhythm and were able to find ground on the Orange side.
But the second quarter was where Lithgow found most of their opportunities, scoring three out of their four goals.
"The final two quarters we had the majority of possession however with the style of hockey that Cyms were playing, made it very difficult to penetrate their defence and set up opportunities," coach Mick Millar said.
Millar said that based on Orange Cyms previous results, his side was expecting them to be difficult to penetrate in defence.
"This showed true where through the match they had all players defending," he said.
"We stuck to our plan though and were able to create enough opportunities to get on the scoreboard with a comfortable lead and then hold possession eventually closing out any chances Cyms had of scoring."

Some strong attacking plays from Panthers saw Caitlin Burns shine scoring two goals and Clare Bosman and Shannon Legg score one goal each.
"Again Caitlin Burns continues to shine with two brilliant solo goals, with mentions for Shannon Legg, Annie Buckley and Rylee Millar with their support in attack," Millar said.
Millar said his defensive units also deserve a mention for the effort to stick to the schedule and patience whilst building in attack.
"Some late raids by Cyms called for some good work from our goal keeper Brenna Croker, eliminating any chance for them to score," he said.
Now that Panthers have played all teams, they will be working on restricting their opposition's strengths and working on individual tasks that Millar believes they are letting themselves down on.
Panthers next match will be at Lithgow Hockey Fields against Ex-Services at 1.30pm.
