While St Pat's may have lost to Lithgow Storm, an impressive last three quarter performance has coach Richard Sharp feeling pleased.

Sharp admits the damage was done in the first quarter, but was pleased with how the team responded in the last three quarters in only lose by two goals.

"We conceded three in the first quarter which did a bit of damage," he said.

"We started pretty slow, which isn't the best but I was pretty happy the boys after that. We won the last three quarters 2-1, so we came back a little bit and controlled things a bit better.

"I thought outside the first quarter, it was pretty even. We created plenty of plenty of opportunities which we probably didn't capitalise on but they didn't too. It was a pretty hard fought game.

Sharp said the result wasn't the worst, considering the circumstances.

"They suffered a bit of an injury to one of their better players in the second quarter, so that set them back a little bit," he said.

"I'm pretty pleased with how they're going with it. We still had Fletcher Norris out too. He's a big inclusion when he gets back from the under 18s nationals."

In the other result of the round, Orange Wanderers recovered from a massive 11-0 defeat to Lithgow Storm in the opening round to down Parkes 4-3.

After two weeks Storm leads in the way in first, followed by St Pat's, Wanderers and Parkes in second, third and fourth respectively.

Storm captain Nic Milne said his squad are training once a week as well as players doing fitness in their own time. He said it felt good to be back on the turf after 12 months off.

"It's great to be back after a year off and especially to have the men's premier league competition back up and running again," he said.
