Sharnie's Boys faced an early challenge from Charolais and led only 3-2 after two rubbers. The Boys turned it on from there though, ripping through the next five rubbers by a combined ten games to three for an unbeatable 13-5 lead.
Charolais had the better of the closing stages but couldn't prevent Sharnie's Boys from securing the victory, 17-11.
Mick Wagner again led Sharnie's Boys from the front with the night's best figures of 6-1. Sharnie Roberts supported well with 4-3 and Jason Bailey went the distance at 5-4.
None of the Charolais contingent could find a place on the positive side of the ledger, as Sean Jenkins finished 4-5, Pauline Wellfare 3-4 and Mark McAulay 1-6.
The winless Grippers again began strongly, stunning Smashes with a 6-1 opening blitz. Smashes narrowed the gap to trail 7-5 but a pair of 2-1 results had Grippers well in command at 11-7 with only four rubbers left.

Smashes wouldn't go quietly however, and won the last two singles rubbers both 2-0 to tie it up at 11-all entering the doubles. A demoralised Grippers side couldn't recover, and Smashes won both doubles, 2-0 and 2-1, to clinch a come-from-behind triumph, 15-12.
Peter Jaccoud (5-3) stood tall in a solid team effort for Smashes, while Linda and Matthew Kappos contributed a couple of 3-4 records.
The luckless Grippers just couldn't take the vital points, with Lou Kappos going 5-3, Riza Wiradi 4-3 and Shane Eagle 2-5.
