It was a rainy Zig Zag Cup contested at the Lithgow Golf Club with the first round of the age championships also held in conjunction.

The Cup was again sponsored by the Zig Zag Motel who have been valued Sponsors of this event for many years.
Rain blew in and out of the morning drowning what was a good field but looking at the winning scores of the champions you would not have known they were effected.
The handicap champion was Robert "Darky" Millar playing off a handicap of 19 who returned the best nett score of 64 nett - the best nett score by at least four shots.
It was his best round for a long while and says he has now found the magic formula to his golf game.
The scratch champion was decided after a count back with Brock Egan edging out Chris Neville .Both play off a handicap of +1 and returned scratch scores of 71.
Egan who is probably the most improved golfer in the club had a back nine of 34 while Neville had 35 giving the title to Egan.
In the grades, Dave Titcume (6) played some superb golf to finish with 68 nett and win A grade.
Runner up was Blake Bender (6) with 70 nett while the scratch was won by Chris Neville with his 71.
Ryan Miller (12) was best in B grade with a nett score of 68 nett with the runner up being Lleyton Guest (13) on 69 nett.
Pat Wall took out the best scratch score with a 82.
C grade saw Warren Kennedy (31) win the best nett score on 69 from Peter Haley (34) on 72. Best scratch score went to John Griffiths (21) with a 91.
There was much jubilation when Carol Osborne took out the nearest the pin on the ninth with a great shot that finished 33cms from the cup.
Playing only a couple of rounds in the Saturday competition she took full advantage of her impressive shot scoring a birdie.
Tony Potts was also on target on the 13th hole with his nearest to the pin finishing 18cms from the hole.
Other awards went to Leo Murnane, Anthony Oldfield and Brock Egan.
Vouchers went down to 72 nett and better and they went to Jeff Geddes, Gary Wallace, Kyle Egan, Rod Clarke, Brendan Dwyer, Dave Warren, John Bird, Damien Marjoram, Mitchell Luka and Greg Jackson.

The Age Championships was held in conjunction and the stars of the age groups were the over 70s with Dave Titcume scoring 74 off the stick and Robbie Millar a 64 nett to head some good scoring by the "old guys".
The second round of the championships will be held on Saturday.
Other notable scores in both the scratch and handicap in the age groups were:
- Under 19: Brock Egan 71/72 and Tallan Egan 81/73.
- 20 to 29: Lleyton Guest 82/69 and Brandon Lloyd 88/74.
- 30 to 39: Damien Marjoram 75/72 and Greg Jackson 84/72.
- 40 to 49: Chris Neville 71/72 and Blake Bender 76/70.
- 50 to 59: Steve Hall 74/74 and Pat Wall 88/72.
- 60 to 69: Dave Warren 83/72 and Rod Clarke 88/72.
There are many golfers hot on the leaders heels and will be hoping to run them down over the final round on Saturday.
The Wednesday, February 3 nine hole competition winner was Luke Bennett 23 points. Second was Heath Egan on 21 points and third was Rob Passmore on 20.
Voucher winners were Peter Williams, Paul Stewart, Max Nightingale, Mark Bennett, Ross King, Phil Turner, John Bird, Tom Jennings, Dave Warren, Rob Ritchie, Dave Muir and Chris Keller.
Nearest to the pins were Tony Potts and Rob Ritchie.
The Friday, February 5 nine hole competition winner was Rob Passmore on 24 points and second was Gary Marshall with 21 points.
Voucher winners were Brian Bourke, Mitchell Luka, Dave Thompson.
Nearest to the pin was Max Nightingale.
Pennants
Both the senior and A reserve Lithgow pennant sides had the bye this round after both enjoyed first up wins and it was the Masters team's turn to debut after they had the bye the previous week.
It was a good start to their campaign beating the Blackheath team at the Wentworth Falls course.
It was a dominant 5-1 win with the Lithgow side consisting of Dave Titcume, Max Nightingale, Greg Hunter, Rob Ritchie, Greg Guest and Brian Giblett.
