We had faced the summer bushfire season, we thank our local firefighters, for ensuring our towns safety
Students were placed in 12 classes ready for a year of learning.
Their teachers had spent many hours preparing for the year of co-teaching, ably led by a ripper executive
If we are to have a good foundation in literacy and numeracy we know the day is focussed learning
Our FACES reveal the way forward as we aim for ongoing improvement.
We know for sure our teachers care and value us as little people. Shaping our way with precision of practice, they sure know what they are doing
Little did we have any idea that our parents would become the Instructional Leaders.
Learning from home seemed like a great idea until the parents starting pulling out their hair.
The teachers did an awesome job of modelling and filling out google forms, but let's all face it teaching is one specialised profession.
A Learning Intention seemed a little foreign and an ice cream scoop was a learning progression.
Borrow and pay back is no longer a thing, no doubt this was a contentious issue.
We all came together as a true community as we worked together for the students of Wallerawang.
A phone call home to check on student's wellbeing and a drive around town delivering Easter goodies Wallerawang Public rose to the challenge.
COVID 19 did not stop our sustained focus on teaching and learning
The fanfare as the students returned gave the football grand final a run for their money... there was placards and streamers and a shout out to welcome everyone back
Unfortunately, sport was non-existent except for our swimming champions, there was some district trials and again our students made the cut... there was no competition at school, district, western or state level but we will come back even stronger in the 2021 competition
We tried our hand at the Premiers debating challenge, we have the gift of the gab at Wallerawang, being zoned regional champions
With no distractions we knew for sure we could continue our focused instruction.
With a collaborative teaching and leadership team we forged ahead making exceptional gains.
Every opportunity that came our way we embraced the challenge to continue to grow.
Our shared beliefs and understanding ensure we are all on the same journey.
It is encouraging to see what can be achieved by a truly unique school team.
In a partnership with our parent and community body we want better learning for all of our students
Congratulations to our school leaders who have stuck to role in exceptional circumstances, student voice continues to be encouraged and along with our staff and community have led the way in evaluating and planning
Our school has expectations for learning and we know that Wangaroo monitors our Positive Behaviour
We offer a culturally safe environment and know this supports our exceptional results in Aboriginal education. The Gugaa, the Wiradjuri totem welcomes our visitors daily, a true community collaboration
Our Early Birds still got to attend our transition to school as they join us next year. We know they will be very happy in our supportive school environment
Presentation Day was livestreamed, we are pretty impressed with our techie crew.
We got to acknowledge all the great things that happened during 2020, despite a different format.
The feedback was positive and the students and parents acknowledged for their contribution
There are few families who we farewell after a long and positive partnership as their last child leaves the Wang school environment.
We thank you for your contribution and know that the children are in a great position.
They will take with them the true Wang spirit, with kindness and caring and determination
This year has caused great uncertainty but we have faced it as continual learning.
There is no doubt of the school culture of high expectations and collaboration.
As assessment focused we know the way forward and know what is possible for every learner.
We ensure an equitable and excellent school culture where every student is known, valued and cared for
I acknowledge the supportive environment with a connection for success for all of our students
Our community atmosphere ensures we work in collaborative practice
Thank you for the year that has passed in unprecedented times, but as we plan for 2021 we know where we are going with a purpose and a strategic direction
