Portland Central student Emeric Tauolo Fuamotu is now a gold and bronze medallist after taking out first and third in the NSW all Schools Championships.

Emeric showed his strength as he threw 13.18 metres in the shot put, which got him the under 12's gold medal.
"I threw it with a three kilogram shot put, and this was my first competition throwing this weight," he said.
The power just kept coming when Emeric competed in the hammer throw and threw 25.78 metres, giving him the bronze.

"This was my first time throwing the hammer and I only learnt it two weeks before the competition," he said.
Emeric trains with his grandfather Nuurea Faumatu when he is in Sydney but when at home, he trains with Dad Matthew Dawson.
To help train and keep up his fitness Emeric also participates in the Lithgow Athletics Club.
The events that Emeric took part in also have a strong family connection.
"My uncle Emanuale Fuamatu has the under 14, 16 and 19 shot put records at the NSW All Schools and I am aiming to break his records," he said.
