At the September, 28 regular council meeting Lithgow councillors noted the call in of Development Applications for a seven-storey, mixed use development on Martini Parade.

The proposal involves the demolition of an existing fibro building and construction of a seven-storey residential building with 39 units, two ground floor commercial retail spaces and 69 basement undercover car spaces.

According to the DA, floors of the building include basement, ground level (mixed residential and commercial) and levels one to five residential.

Cr Deanne Goodsell brought forward the need for another on-site meeting with staff, councillors and residents, which was carried.

A meeting was recently held at the site however, according to Cr Cassandra Coleman the community was still concerned.

"The community is concerned about this I didn't get an opportunity to go to the meeting but I'm glad we are doing another one," she said.

Councillors also raised their concerns on a time frame on the report and assured community members it would "not be dumped on them without some sort of warning," Cr Stephen Lesslie said.

Cr Wayne McAndrew requested a wide as notification as possible about the DA and meeting so people would be aware of its occurrence.

"We need to inform as many people as possible," he said.

He also urged residents to get their submissions into Council to be recorded in relation to the application.

"The most important meeting will be the next on site with applicants, council and council officers putting forward their place of view and equally make sure those [resident] submissions are put forward in support or against [of the development]," he said.
