With many teams involved and players eager to be back on the courts, here are the latest results from round three of the Lithgow Netball Association's winter competition.
Netta
Portland Lollipops: Ruby Blackwell had a great game in the mid court, helping get the ball down to Marlee Schumack who worked the circle well!
Workies Diamonds: Harper Dunn displayed some great shooting and intercepting with Parker Wootton showing great communication skills in the court.
Division 4
Portland Pandas 1 defeated by Portland Popstars 36
Pandas: The girls played an experienced team, but never gave up only having 6 players. Olivia Kearns had an amazing game, her goal was an amazing shot from far out. Lillijana McMillan's defence was outstanding, never giving up. Cheri Franklin helped move the ball through the centre.
Popstars: Briea Lampton's defence was flawless, rebounding at every opportunity. Jada Cadalt's skills and confidence are improving weekly for her first year out of Netta. The entire team need to be congratulated for the outstanding sportsmanship against a less experienced team!
Wang Stars 14 defeated by Workies Rubies 16
Stars: Riley Giles played an excellent game in WD, striving for the ball off every centre pass.
Rubies: Hallie McDonald played well for her second game ever in GK defending fantastic and Mia Sheehan shot extremely well.
Division 3
Viper 11 defeated by Portland Hotshots 20
Hotshots: Bailey Neale and Kara Handley's defensive in the circle was outstanding, both working hard all game keeping the opposition out numerous times.
Portland Pocket Rockets 14 defeated by Vipers 51
Vipers: Bree Carter made an outstanding effort in a position she is not familiar with. The entire team need to be congratulated for their effort.
Division 1
Wang Tigers 29 defeated by Wang Phoenix 53
Tigers: Fabulous effort from the 5 available players. Taylor Bennett's support in C was amazing as always. The team work in both the defensive and attacking circles was awe inspiring. Shooters Sophie Chatham and Tayla Alexander, defensive being Ella Houlison and Annika Taylor.
Phoenix: Phoenix played Tigers in a friendly game. Unfortunately Tigers could only get 5 players on the court but their never say die attitude was a credit to them. Phoenix's defensive team of Maicee, Alannah and Ciara stopped the goals getting in and were definitely the players of the week.
Vixens 49 defeated Wang Amazons 31
Amazons: The team had an improved game against Vixens with Jasmine Johnstone's positioning in the goal circle combining with outstanding deflections and intercepts by Mandy Spargo contributing to a well played game.
Wang Swifts 51 defeated Vikings 34
Swifts: This was a tough match that could have gone either way.Swifts shooters Sophie Clarke and Bella Nunan showed excellent shooting skills and Charlotte Dunn showed speed around the court.
Vikings: Kiah Walsh and Emily Chatham were outstanding, maintaining their effort and composure against some intense competitors, with a great effort from Zoe Walsh in only her third game of netball.
