The NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) published the second round of submissions that were in response to Centennial Coal's Angus Place Mine extension project.
The proposed Amendment Report documents were on exhibition at the DPIE major projects website, which can be found here.
There are 247 submissions shown, with:
- 13 from public authorities;
- 21 from organisations; and
- 212 from individuals
A Response to Submissions is now required by DPIE.
Centennial Coal's executive general manager of external relations Katie Brassil said that the Angus Place Extension Project would employ local people and supply coal to Mt Piper Power Station.
"Representing another generation of economic stability for our Lithgow community," she said.
Centennial is currently preparing a comprehensive response to submissions which they will provide, in another couple of months, to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment and will be publicly available.
When this becomes available the Lithgow Mercury will follow it up.
