The smiles on the faces of the large field were evident when competition golf recommenced at the Lithgow Golf Club following the shutdown over the past weeks.

The club board would like to thank their members who adhered to the stringent rules placed on golfers in a bid to keep every one keeping social distances and following health measures.
The event was the April monthly medals with some of the golfers not missing a beat after the layoff and turning in good scores.
The best nett score of the day came out of B grade with Garry Keen taking out the winning voucher with a 66 nett.
He also won his grade's medal and best scratch score with a 76. Runner up was Rod Clarke on 70 nett.
The consistent Brian Judge again showed his expertise when he took out A grade and the medal with a 70 nett.
Runner up to Judge was Bill Oldfield with a 71 nett and he also won the best scratch score with with a two under par 70 on a countback.
The current C grade champion Brian Giblett picked up where he left off when he won the medal, best nett and scratch score after shooting a 91 and 72 nett. Runner up to Giblett was Ken Durie on 73 nett.
Those to play well and win vouchers were Chris Neville, Harry Bender, Troy Luka, Anthony Boza, Al Mostyn, Rob Ritchie, Greg Jackson, Peter Hall, Brad Gordon, Jeff Geddes, Andrew Burton, Brock Egan, Dave Thompson, Kobe Hunter, Paul Bosman, Shane Monaghan, Nick Bender, Max Nightingale, John Chadwick, Tallan Egan and Rob Hawes.
Vouchers cut out on 74 nett on a countback.
The winner of the Friday, April 27 nine hole competition was Greg Jackson playing off a healthy handicap with the winner amassing a huge score of 35 points.
Runner up was Brian Giblett on 29 points with third place going to Don Farnsworth on 28 points.Vouchers cut out on 24 points and they went to John Bird, Trevor Cameron, Brian Judge, Michael Casey, Leo Murnane and Ben Sabat.
This Saturday, May 2 competition will be a single stableford with the normal Wednesday and Friday nine hole competitions being played.
