
Advice has been received from the Office of Local Government on Tuesday, April 21 that paves the way for the re-opening of Council owned golf courses and tennis court.

While premises used for the purpose of indoor recreational facilities must close, outdoor recreational facilities can remain open, provided persons using the facility adhere to the orders around social distancing and public gatherings.
Outdoor facilities that are still prohibited in the Public Health Order and must remain closed include public swimming pools, outdoor playground or gym equipment and skate parks.
Lithgow City mayor Cr Ray Thompson said Council is thrilled about the announcement.

"Now we can work quickly with Lithgow Golf Club and Lithgow City Tennis Club so these facilities may lawfully and safely reope.
"We would like to thank the Office of Local Government for their timely advice so this can occur.
"The physical and mental wellbeing of our community is being tested during this difficult time and access to outdoor recreation is vital in getting us all through," he said.
