It was with great sadness that we learn of the death of Lithgow Golf Club Life Member, Peg Cronin.

Peg passed away peacefully in Tabulam Cottage on Sunday, February 16.
Up until September last year Peg enjoyed good health but was diagnosed with inoperable cancer as a result of a melanoma she had removed a number of years ago.
At 90 years of age Peg decided not to have the invasive treatment required as there was no guarantee it would be successful.
Peg and late husband Jim joined the Lithgow Golf Club in the early 60's.
Very soon it become apparent that the Club had gained a great duo.
Jim served on the Board for many years and was a recognised Captain of the Club. Peg served on the Ladies Committee for many years holding most positions.
Both were great workers for and supporters of the Club. So great was their commitment that they were both elected Life Members of the Golf Club, a rare feat.
Peg and Jim played golf well into their 80's until sadly Jim became ill, Peg continued to play competitively, winning a Gold Medal at the age of 84, only to succumb to retirement from the game she loved when she could no longer walk around the course.
Although Peg retired from playing she held a strong interest in the goings on at the Club and golf in general up until her death.
A wonderful and much loved lady, it has been our privilege to have known Peg.
The Ladies Golf is back in full swing now following the Christmas break.
The first round of the 2020 monthly medals was held on Wednesday with the first division won by Patty Aidulis and the second division won by Fran Le Fevre.
The Neville Kerrison sponsored Nearest the Pin on the second hole which was won by Lynne Ritchie.
Last week a Four Ball Best Ball was played with lower scores reflecting the difficulty of the golf course now we have been inundated with rain and the grass has gone berserk.
Winners with 41 points were Ollie King and newcomer Julie Murnane, this will not be the last of Julie in the winners' circle as she is improving each game she plays.
Runners up, beaten on a count back also with 41 points were Jennifer Wild and Carol Osborne.
The Pennant series has commenced with the Lithgow team not fairing well playing Blackheath at Blackheath last Monday.
The score was Lithgow were defeated 4 1/2 to 1/2 .
Next week Lithgow play Leura at home.
