"It was a very exciting moment to be selected, I was quite nervous but it turned out for the best I guess," he said.

Evans will play a full week in Ballarat against different teams before hopefully making the finals and playing off for the National title.
"I want to play well and contribute my part to the team and see if we can get top three spot hopefully," he said.
This is Evans first selection in the state team, but knowing his teammates has helped his nerves.
"I know everyone in the squad, we are all good mates, we've been playing together for a while so we work well together," he said.
Evan's also plays for Lithgow High School's basketball team, and trains three to four times a week.
"Mainly just working on my game and fitness," he said.
