It was an excellent field that took part in the prestigious event and a big thank you again goes out to the Zig Zag Motel for their continued support of golf in Lithgow.
Scoring was a lot harder than in past months with the course playing at its longest due to the pins and markers being back and the run almost non existent due to the recent rains.
Bill Oldfield shot a three under par 69 to take out the best scratch score but only after counting out Andrew Burton who also returned a 69.
It was a proud day for Bill who has been putting a lot of time into coaching his son Ben and his tuition was evident when Ben took out the major handicap title with a nett score of 63.
The grade winners, runners up and best scratch score in 1,2,3 sequence were as follows:
- A grade: Mitch Luka 66 nett, Rod Bright 70 ocb and Andrew Burton 69.
- B grade: Jeff Geddes 68 ocb, Greg Jackson 68 and Rob Hawes 79.
- C grade: Nathan Harris 72 ocb, Ken Durie 72 and Dave May 98.
Others to play well and win vouchers were: Don Farnsworth, Dave Thompson, Steve Hall, John Bird, Blake Bender, Dean Stafford and John Murnane. Vouchers cut out on 72 nett.
Nearest the pins went to Andrew Burton, Greg Jackson, Bill Oldfield, Darren Hunter and Dave May.
