Foursomes is one of the more difficult golf events to play with the players taking alternate shots with the same ball.
The champions after 27 holes and a three hole play off was the team of Steve Hall and Damien Marjoram who edged out runners-up Bill and Anthony Oldfield.
After the initial 27 holes, both teams were tied on 115. A playoff was called for with both teams scoring birdies on the first, pars on the 17th and then the Oldfields inexplicably double bogeyed the par three 18th hole, giving the title to Marjoram and Hall who parred the hole.
In the handicap section, neighbours Gary Wallace and Brad Gordon were successful with a nett score of 105.
Hot on their heels were the runners-up team of father and son Greg and Lleyton Guest on 107 and three quarters.
The previous day at the golf club (November 9) the event was a two ball best ball with the winners being the team of Dave Muir and Richard Mara with the great score of 49 points on a countback.
The dominant player in the team was Dave Muir who plays off a handicap of 21 and for the second week in a row scored a personal tally of 41 points.
The unlucky runners-up were Paul Bailey and Geoff Wheeler who lost the countback.
Another player in hot form is John Chadwick. Playing off 6, Chadwick played excellent golf to amass a total of 44 points to take out the singles event.
Nearest to pin vouchers went to John Griffiths, Dave Muir, Steve Jennings, Nathan Thompson and Peter Haley.
Those to score well and pick up vouchers were Don Wolfenden, Greg Jackson, Gary Marshall, Justin McCann, Dave Titcume, Steve Jennings, Anthony Oldfield, Graham Dean, Peter Haley, Steve Hall, Jeff Geddes and big Talon Egan.
Next Saturday's event will be a single stableford.
