Around 8 o'clock, the rains stopped and a good number of golfers then took advantage of the better conditions and enjoyed a relatively dry day of golf.
With the sodden fairways, scoring was tough without any run.
This gave the low markers an advantage and they dominated the best stableford scores.
The best score of the day came out of A grade with Harry Bender amassing an excellent score of 40 points.
Bender who will be representing the Blue Mountains team in the Country Championships had an up and down round and at one stage was three under par following some big hitting and accurate iron play.He finished his round one over with his score still good enough to take out A grade.
Runner-up was Justin McCann on 39 points and the best scratch score went to Andrew Burton on 72 ocb.
Best in B grade was Cody Clark on 37 points with Clark also returning the best scratch score with 83.Michael Saville was runner-up on 36 points.
In C grade, Gary Marshall was best on 37 and Barack on 32 points was big Tallon Egan who also returned the best scratch score with 95.
The nearest the pin awards also showed the good form that Harry Bender was in with the left hander picking up two awards and was on a couple of other holes which ultimately went to Greg Guest, Max Nightingale and Travis Cameron.
Balls went to Dave Titcume, Travis Cameron, Anthony Oldfield, Max McCann, Brad Gordon, Justin Nelson, Geoff Wheeler and Max Nightingale.
Balls cut out on 34 neat.
Wednesday nine hole competition (9/10): Winner: Wayne Morris 26 points.
Runner-up: Laurie Northey 25 ocb. Third: Don Farnsworth 25.Balls: Heath Egan, Brian Giblett and Juan Farmer. Balls cut out on 25 ocb.
Friday nine hole competition (11/10): Winner: Jeff Geddes 29 ocb. Runner-up: Mark Willmott 29.Balls: Trevor Cameron and Don Farnsworth.
Coming up: Saturday 19/10: two person aggregate plus singles.
