Police warn residents in the region have been contacted by people saying they were from Telstra or the NBN. Pretending to be trying to fix a security breach, the scammers remotely gain access to information and data. The police district warned that there had been significant monetary losses from this scam.
The police warned Telstra and its like do not do business in this manner.
If you have been contacted by a scammer contact your financial institution immediately and report any incidents to local police.
