Lean & Bennett Toyota Lithgow donated more than 200 trees and planting kits to schools around the area.
The Lithgow Mercury caught up with some of the students at Lithgow Public School as they contemplated good spots for planting. The new plants will come in very handy to replace some of the plants that had to be removed to make way for the new school fence, which is currently under construction.
Zig Zag Public School was also very excited to be planting 50 grasses and ferns. They sent a "huge thank you to Lean and Bennett Toyota Lithgow, Bunnings Lithgow and Lithgow Council for supporting Zig Zag" in its venture.
This is an initiative organised by Planet Ark in partnership with Toyota Australia and its Dealer Network which provide on-the-ground support at various sites across Australia.
Lean and Bennett Toyota have donated an estimated 4,500 trees to the local schools and community over the 20 years.
"We look forward to seeing our local schools and community members planting trees on National Tree Day every year," Dealer Principal at Lean and Bennett Toyota Rhys Bennett said in the lead-up to the day.
