Many schools around the Lithgow region will be taking part in Australia's largest annual tree planting day on Friday, July 26.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of National Tree Day and Lean & Bennett Toyota Lithgow have donated over 200 trees and planting kits to schools around the area.
Lithgow's Lean & Bennett Toyota employee Rea Anlezark said Lithgow has backed the tree planting initiative since the start.
"We have always backed Rhys and Harry [Bennett] and supported this project quite extensively," she said.
"Lean & Bennett Lithgow like to support the local community, especially when it comes to the environment."
Ms Anlezark said that the project was good because it gets children involved.
"Getting kids to learn about the environment at such an early age is important," she said.
This is an initiative organised by Planet Ark in partnership with Toyota Australia and its Dealer Network which provide on-the-ground support at various sites across Australia.
Lean and Bennett Toyota have donated an estimated 4,500 trees to the local schools and community over the 20 years.
"We look forward to seeing our local schools and community members planting trees on National Tree Day every year," Dealer Principal at Lean and Bennett Toyota Rhys Bennett said.
Planet Ark's deputy CEO, Rebecca Gilling said 'Toyota's commitment to environmental improvement is evident in their goal to achieve zero carbon emissions'.
"Their 20 years of support for National Tree Day, has made an invaluable contribution to the planting of 25 million native trees, shrubs and grasses by millions of children and adults across Australia," she said.
Schools participating in the day include Cooerwull, Cullen Bullen, Ilford, Lithgow High, Lithgow Primary, Meadow Flat, La Salle Academy, St Joeys Oberon, Blackheath Primary, Mount Vic, Portland St Joeys, Portland Central, Capertee, Scots School, Zig Zag and St Patrick's.
