A white Mazda Astina was abandoned after it crashed through a property's fence and slammed into a tree. The airbags had inflated during the crash.
Its number plates were removed from the scene.
The crash was reported to police at 1.45pm on Tuesday afternoon.
The vehicle was traced to a Blackheath address and police are continuing to investigate who was behind the wheel at the time of the crash.
