The car was one of about five parked along Hereford Street, Bathurst, where people wanting to sell their car regularly park, and leave their vehicles in the hope a buyer will be among the high volumes of traffic passing the site every day.
However, on Monday, the car was found virtually destroyed by vandals; it's driver side window smashed with a brick, and then black paint thrown inside the car and over its external paintwork as well.
While it's not illegal to sell a car by the side of the road (as long as it's parked safely and legally) it is risky, especially when left overnight.

A spokesperson for Chifley Police said although inconvenient, they recommend you take your car back home at dusk, and bring it back the next day when its light.
"Most damage is done at night, people who leave their car there run the risk of something happening," he said.
It's not the first time cars parked at the Hereford Street site have been targeted; in previous incidents cars have had bricks thrown through their windows, and torched by vandals. Cars parked opposite the golf course, have also been damaged.
