Her car became airborne after skidding on black ice and tumbled 15m down a hill side.
The young woman did not sustain serious injuries in the crash.
Two cars had already skidded out of control and left the road in the area when the young driver hit the black ice patch on the Great Western Highway near Tunnel Hill at 5.40am.
The Toyota Hilux, which was heading west, slid across the road into the oncoming lane, hitting the road divider. The vehicle became airborne and cleared the eastern guardrail, rolling a number of times as it fell about 15m down an embankment.
Traffic was stopped on the highway and police gained access to the vehicle by forcing the passenger side door. The young woman was escorted to the bottom of the embankment and she was taken to Lithgow Hospital for treatment.
