The Greatest Hits in Concert series will bring some of the Lithgow Musical Society's favourites back to the stage to relive some of the great moments from the last 30-plus years. It will include numbers from hit shows such as Annie, Cats, Mary Poppins, and Beauty and the Beast.
"It's going to be a great show, with a variety of talent," musical director Rae Burton said.
"There is a wide age range within the cast who have worked hard to handle songs from different eras.
"I think it is going to be very enjoyable for everyone."
It is also a chance for the Society to showcase some never-before seen numbers from musicals such as Matilda, Billy Elliot and Wicked, which the Society was unlikely to ever be able to stage as a full production.
"Even something like Phantom, we would never be able to put on," Mrs Burton said.
The show will be held on the stage at the Lithgow High School. The Society has had to relocate from the Union Theatre while it undergoes a massive backstage renovation.
Lithgow Musical Society will be staging its shows on:
- Saturday, May 25 at 7.30pm
- Sunday, May 26 at 2pm
- Friday, May 31 at 7.30pm
- Saturday, June 1 at 7.30pm
- Sunday, June 2 at 2pm
Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children and concessions. Tickets are available at the door one hour prior to performances.
