Club members came together to talk about the good old days and reminisce on their years at Club Lithgow.
Life member Ken Potter has been a part of Club Lithgow for 53 years and said he loved everything it has to offer.
"I like the friendship here, they make you feel at home especially since my wife died they've been very good to me," he said.
Michael Johnson, who is also a Club Lithgow life member, said he joined the club in 1980 when he started playing bowls.
"It's a great place and oh gosh it's changed, when I started the bowls were black and my uniform was all white and it's now all colourful and we've got club colours," he said.
Guests then came together for the official opening of the centenary dinner dance including Bowls NSW president Vince Beard, Lithgow City mayor Cr Ray Thompson and Bathurst MP Paul Toole.
Club Lithgow president Wayne Allan said the month of March had been a special and proud time for the club.
"One hundred years... what a great milestone, this club has been through so many changes.
"Formed in 1919, straight after the end of the first World War, Club Lithgow has been a part of Lithgow's history since and has overcome events such as the Great Depression and World War II," he said.
Mr Allan also mentioned that for a considerable period it was only a men's club but that changed in 1954 when the women's bowling club was formed.
"The ladies bowls have become a very important part of our club and we are very lucky to be here celebrating a centenary," he said.
Mr Allan said everyone owed a huge debt of gratitude to the vast numbers of committee, directors, employees, volunteers and loyal members of the 100 years.
"We are all very proud of what has been achieved in that time.
"Today we provide important sporting, entertainment and leisure facilities for the Lithgow community and we are able to support a number of sporting, social and charity organisations," he said.
He also thanked the guests for attending the night to celebrate the club's centenary and said he looked forward to a future with confidence.
NSW Bowls president Vince Beard and his wife Tricia also attended the night and were pleased to be celebrating such a milestone. He said it was a very important step to reach 100 years in a time that he sees some clubs struggling.
"[Club Lithgow is] a meeting place where you can have a few drinks, spill your heart out, pat each other on the back and keep going. I am honoured to be invited to this celebration," he said.
Cr Ray Thompson also congratulated Club Lithgow on its 100 years.
"This is a matter of how far this club has gone and continues to go, it will do wonders and I congratulate everyone for that. I'm sure Club Lithgow will continue to go from strength to strength," he said.
Another close friend of Club Lithgow who attended the dinner dance celebration was Bathurst MP and NSW Nationals deputy leader Paul Toole.
"Club Lithgow has provided a service to the community and this is a historic occasion and I know they will have many more years to come," he said.
After formalities were over a number of life members cut the centenary birthday cake to officially open the night.
Guests enjoyed a buffet dinner and dessert, and danced the night away with live entertainment from the White Brothers.
