The Lithgow Golf Club members have been praying for rain for the past month or so, but unfortunately their prayers were answered over the weekend when their championships were set down to be played.

A number of the field did finish their 18 holes in difficult conditions but the weather became worse and the greens became unplayable.
With similar weather predicted for the following day it forced organisers to call off the first and second rounds.
Captain Max Nightingale issued a statement that the championships will now be played over the following two weekends - March 23 and 24 and 30 and 31.

For a number of players who could not play on the weekend, the postponement will now give them the chance to play in this major event.
It was deemed that those who did finish their first round on Saturday they would play in a single stroke event.
The A grade winner was Mitch Luka with a very good 71 nett which was excellent golf considering the miserable conditions.
Runner-up was Justin Nelson on 73 nett.
The B grade winner was Greg Jackson again with a top round of 70 nett with Ross Harrington the runner up with 74.
Nearest the pin awards went to Travis Cameron, Ryan Miller, Gary Koch and John Chadwick.
Ball winners were Harry Bender, Max Nightingale, Tony Oldfield, Peter Thompson and Steve Hall.
