Thursday Twilites are still very popular. There were 28 starters playing over 14 ends. Doug Smith, Paul Crane and Peter Kearney took out second prize, defeating Rob Gallagher, Phil Morcom and Richie Bilby 8+5.

June Barnes, returning after a lengthy absence, Bruce Gibbons and Ian Birk defeated Gloria Clark, Col Quince and Maurie Nugent 11+18 to be runners-up in the field of 18 starters.
Saturday, with fields diminished by Pennants being played on the day, saw some big scores to win the event over 21 ends. Tim Breen, Col Wotton, and John Perry defeated Tim Breen, Don Kenniff and Bob Kiernan to take out the day with the big score of 14+19.
Jack Rayner, Paul Crane and Warren Kennedy defeated Bob Wray, Jack Bennett and Sian Campbell by another big score 14+17 to be runners-up.
Number three and number five Pennants both had good results, with number threes winning by three shots to end up with an 8 to 2 point win.
Number five's was a particularly close affair against Workies, with the final end seeing Workies score three shots to tie at 53 all. City came out winners 5.5-4.5 due to winning two of the three rinks.
The weekend saw the culmination of the Major Singles Championship. The old stager Ian Townsend versus the new kid on the block, Al Kenniff, was set up to be a great match up.
To the tenth end the scores were level at 7-all with Kenniff having won six ends. Winning 7 of the next 10 ends, Townsend was able to put pressure on his younger opponent and despite some excellent bowls, Townsend snuck away a little to lead 18-13 after 20 ends.
Multiples were the major decider over the remaining ends, where Kenniff conceded some twos and threes and, although he halves the ends, the multiples gave Townsend the lead required to go on and win handsomely, 31-20.
With this win under his belt, Townsend has now won three separate Singles Major Titles at three separate clubs - Wallerawang, Lithgow Workies and now Lithgow City. Well done, and congratulations to Ian.
The Club Pairs now can be decided with the final between Ian Townsend and Jeff Madden v Gary Sutherland and Gil Mendoza.
Pennants will continue over the next couple of months and Lithgow City Centenary celebrations will continue on the greens.
