Lithgow again showed their dominance on the Blue Mountains by winning both the senior pennants and the masters competitions undefeated.
The senior side was represented during the series by captain Andrew Burton, Darren Hunter, Steve Hall, Travis Cameron, Justin Nelson, Harry Bender and John Chadwick.
The Masters side who have the bye in the last round can’t be beaten and their side consisted of captain Max Nightingale, Greg Hunter, Dave Titcume, Jeff Geddes, Don Farnsworth, Brian Judge, Paul Bosman, Greg Guest and Ross Harrington.
Congratulations to both captains for all their work and organising during the year.
Nightingale has been in great form over the past couple of months and again was in form when he returned a 67 nett to take out the A grade voucher and the monthly medal.
Runner up on 67 nett on a countback was Mitch Luka who has come back strongly after a knee reconstruction.
Once again it was Bill Oldfield who recorded the best scratch score with a two under par 70 and must be one of the hot favourites for the club championship that starts on March 16 to be played over four rounds.
Dean Stafford counted out Max McCann for the voucher when both finished on 67 nett. They will play off for the medal next month.
Best scratch score went to McCann on 77.
C grade went to Trevor Cameron on 76 nett on a countback from Alex Dengate and they too will play off for the medal next month. Cameron had the best scratch score with 95.
It was a case of the one that got away for C grader Robbie “Darky” Millar when he returned a 71 nett, but unfortunately his playing partner “Digger” Murnane took his card home with him. No doubt Darky will remind him of this for many years to come.
Nearest to the pins went to Greg Hunter, John Newman, Greg Dykes, Max McCann and Gary Keen.
Balls cut out on 72 ocb.
The Friday nine hole competition went to Brian Giblett with 29 points with the runner up voucher going to Mick Casey on 27.
Balls went to Rob George, Jeff Geddes and Steve and Geoff Brooks. Balls cut out on 24 points ocb and the nearest to the pin went to Michael Saville.
This Saturday’s event will be a single stableford.
