THIS fire is now listed as ‘being controlled’ by the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS).
While the RFS has not listed how many hectares the blaze has now burnt, the Fires Near Me website shows the bushfire has burnt an area between Commonwealth Avenue, Cregan Lane, alongside large water tanks and bushland along the ride at Littleton.

A WATER-BOMBING aircraft has arrived on scene at an out-of-control blaze at Lithgow.
The bushfire remains at ‘advice’ level with the NSW RFS stating that while there is no immediate danger, nearby residents are encouraged to stay up-to-date in case the situation changes.
Update 3.25pm
FIREFIGHTERS say an out-of-control blaze currently burning in Lithgow begun on private property.
The fire is burning through bushland in Littleton and NSW RFS Operational Officer Brett Taylor said he was currently unable to confirm the size of the blaze.
“It started on properties behind Commonwealth Avenue,” he said.
“They were private properties.”

A WATER-BOMBING aircraft has been dispatched to an out-of-control bushfire burning in Littleton.
“There is no property under threat, and there are multiple Fire and Rescue NSW and RFS crews there,” Chifley/Lithgow RFS Operational Officer Brett Taylor said.
“The fire is [currently] going away from the Lithgow Small Arms Factory.”

DARK smoke can be seen over bushland at Littleton in the south of Lithgow due to an out-of-control bushfire.
NSW Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW crews are on scene at the blaze which is burning off Commonwealth Avenue.

AN out-of-control bushfire is currently burning in Lithgow with firefighters on scene providing property protection to nearby buildings.
Multiple triple-0 were received from around 1.20pm with Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) and NSW Rural Fire Service crews rushing to the scene.
FRNSW Zone Commander Superintendent Sel Mathias the bushfire was currently around one hectare in size and moving uphill off Commonwealth Street in Littleton.
“We’ve got two pumpers and two tankers and a duty commander responding [to the scene],” he said.
“The RFS [NSW Rural Fire Service] has six units responding.”

Supt Mathias said the fire was burning close to property, was unable to confirm whether it was homes or businesses.
“There was property close by and property protection is at hand,” he said.
The fire is burning in bushland at the rear of the Lithgow Small Arms Factory.
Supt Mathias said there was currently very little breeze at the fireground site and crews were hopeful of getting it under control as quickly as possible.
