Open Prize Meeting
On Sunday, December 2, the club successfully hosted its annual Open Prize Meeting which was attended by 66 entrants.
To say conditions were difficult was an understatement with the predicted 50km/h winds arriving right on cue.
Despite these difficult conditions the club members were able to press on with a refreshed program even though the snapping off of three targets and several targets needing rebuilding on the fly, the personnel in the butts were able to still allow the meet to continue relatively unimpeded.
Lithgow had seven competitors enter the competition with Adam Sharwood in Target Rifle B Grade, Adrian Holder in F Class Standard A Grade, Adam Eckford, Ray Berger and Jennifer Wild in F Class Standard B Grade and Ben Ferrara and Joshua Ferrara in F Class Open.
By the end of a very difficult day, Lithgow’s Adam Sharwood won the number one badge in Target Rifle B Grade 142 with six ‘V’ bulls and despite not winning a single range on the day Adrian Holder won the number one badge in F Class Standard A Grade 167 with seven super centres showing consistency was the order of the day.
In other news, Lindsay Marskell, Rob Knight, Craig Olsen, Karen Olsen and Karl Olsen from Lithgow Small Arms Rifle Club Field Class travelled away to Coffs Harbour to compete in annual Field Class Queens OPM with Lithgow’s Craig Olsen coming away with the third place badge.
Congratulations!
