Western Region champions, the Cooerwull Public School softball team has proved itself among the fiercest competitors in the state, finishing fourth overall.

They played two games in the state finals on Thursday, December 6 at Blacktown International Sports Park.
They lost both games, going down to Caves Beach Public School 4-1.

From there they went into the playoffs to decide third and fourth place in the competition against Wyrallah Public School and were beaten 15-8.
It is the first time the team has made it so far in the competition. To be named Western Region champs was a huge achievement.
The team claimed the title of Western Region boys champions on June 15. Their form continued on September 17 when the the boys played Wee Waa, the North West Regional Champions in Narrabri.
The school thanked the parents who have supported the students through a marathon journey to the state finals.
