The organisers of Portland’s Australia Day celebrations, on Wolgan Street on Saturday, January 26 between 10am and 3pm, are putting a call out for all interested persons or organisations to become involved.

They would welcome suggestions to add or improve the celebrations. The celebrations in Portland are an important event on the calendar, there is always room for improvement to the program or activities.
The activities will center on Wolgan Street between 10am and 3pm, with entertainment, a merry-go-round, jumping castle and other activities for the children.
There will be stalls and hopefully some other items of interest. It is hoped that the community of Portland, will once again come to the fore and support their celebrations.
Full details of the program will be publicised, once they are finalised.

Stallholders are always welcome and play an important role It is not too late to become involved or assist on the day and further details can be obtained by contacting John Kearns on 0409 345 752.
Nominations are also being called for Portland's Citizen or Young Citizen (18 years and under) of the Year.
Forms will available at Portland Newsagency or Portland Post Office, where completed nominations can also be left in the Box provided. They will close on December 31, 2018.
