After a young girls horse, Blaze, died after being hit by a large truck on Saturday, November 3, family friend Casey Russell decided to set up a fundraiser.

“Although Blaze can never be replaced I will be raising money so that when she is ready, her mum will be in a position to be able to begin their search for a horse again,” she said.
Ms Russell has set up a Facebook account called “In the spirit of Blaze fundraiser” where she posts updates on the fundraiser.
All the funds will go to the family who will use them to purchase the right horse when they are ready and any funds left over will go to purchasing lucerne hay for the horse, according to Ms Russell.
“This fundraiser is simply a gift from the community around her who understands her hard loss and who want to share some care, love and support,” she said.
“No matter how small a donation with combined efforts you can make a change in the spirit of Blaze.”
